Our supported living housing based in Herne Bay, Swale, Deal, and Thanet is perfectly located to access local amenities and public transport. We support people to be as independent as possible and live within the community.
Arkley Road is our supported living chalet bungalow in Herne Bay. It has five bedrooms and is a light and spacious property, located on a quiet road. The Herne Bay Hub is a short walk away from Arkley Road, where tenants can take part in fun therapeutic activities and access services within the community with friends.

Della: What is good about living in Arkley Road?
Tenant: I love it here because I am very happy here. I was lonely before living in a flat
Della: Do you prefer living with others?
Tenant: Yes, I do. We like each other and get on together. I like the staff too
Della: What do you look forward to?
Tenant: I go to work; I like going out to places. I like seeing my brother
At Arkley Road tenants can furnish their rooms to make the space feel like home. East Kent Mencap staff support the tenants to learn and carry out household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning, to increase their independent living skills and confidence. They can spend time with fellow tenants and are encouraged to do things they enjoy.
