Our Herne Bay Hub extended a warm invitation to family, friends and KCC Councillor, Dan Watkins to a breakfast event in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Kelly Forest, Hub Coordinator Herne Bay, said, “It was wonderful to welcome everyone to our Hub and provide an opportunity for the people who use our services to talk about the significance of the Hub in their lives. Councillor Dan Watkins was particularly impressed with the Hub and our future plans to improve the facilities for our members. It is an exciting time for East Kent Mencap in Herne Bay.”
Dan spoke with East Kent Mencap members, Joe and Paul to find out more about the Hub and what it means to them, while enjoying waffles and heart-shaped crumpets. There were also a variety of Valentine’s Day activities for people to take part in and beautiful hand-crafted Valentine’s decorations to admire.
Louise McAlpine, Hub Coordinator Herne Bay, said, “Our Valentine’s event was a great success and we look forward to more opportunities to welcome the Herne Bay community to join us.”
