Foresters Café

Foresters Café is open from 1-3pm at Old Foresters Hall on Thursdays. This is aimed at people with a learning difficulty who live independently and receive little or no other support. 

Foresters Café provides opportunities to:

-       Meet new friends

-       Talk about things that are important to you

-       Get involved with the local community

-       Get information that enables you to stay independent 

If you need support to access the Foresters Café, please bring your support with you.

District Partnership Group (July 2021) – Valuing People Now in East Kent

While we are still unable to all meet in person, GOLD is pleased to share with you their 3rd DPG video.  Guidance and rules around COVID-19 safety are changing all the time, but it's still good practice to follow the advice in the video to keep ourselves as safe as possible. East Kent Mencap's Getting On with Learning Difficulties (GOLD) Project thanked Leon Williams for his generous contribution, after he ran the equivalent of 2 marathons to raise money.

GOLD makes a difference

Since its launch at the end of last year, our GOLD project has supported a number of people in Thanet, who either do not receive statutory funding or are moving out of the welfare system.
