The ScrapStore @ East Kent Mencap
The ScrapStore @ East Kent Mencap, Foresters Hall, Meeting St, Ramsgate, CT11 9RT.
An exciting green initiative that looks to reduce waste in Thanet. The ScrapStore encourages people to reduce, reuse and recycle by taking in safe, clean ‘scrap’ craft products so that re-usable items are saved from landfill. The craft supplies are sold at affordable prices for others to use to get creative. It is run by volunteers with and without a learning disability, and all art supplies have been donated.
The ScrapStore is open every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
Parents, community groups, and individuals can visit The ScrapStore, which is at East Kent Mencap’s Foresters Hall, Meeting St, Ramsgate, CT11 9RT. You can fill a provided basket with your choice of art supplies for a minimum donation of £5.
The ScrapStore @ East Kent Mencap provides work experience and volunteer opportunities for people with a learning disability, enabling them to build a portfolio of employability skills with a view to finding paid work.
We aim for The ScrapStore @ East Kent Mencap to bring together people with a learning disability and members of the public, and to promote the skills and creativity of people with a learning disability.
