East Kent Mencap is proud to announce that we have modernised our charity and adopted a new charitable status which makes us stronger and ready for continued growth.
On 30th June, East Kent Mencap’s Trustees moved everything we own and do to the new East Kent Mencap charity (number 1188118) and established a new company (number 12263702). You will not notice any difference in our services or staffing – we are still the same!
The modernisation and change to our status was voted on and approved by our members on 16th January 2020.
Now everything has been moved and we are ready, we could close the old charity, but the problems caused by the virus mean we will not be in a position to do this for some time.
